  1. Collection and use of log files
    For optimizing this website in terms of system-performance, usability and providing useful information about our products and services, we automatically gather and store information in log files on your computer. This includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and language setting, operating system, internet service provider (ISP) and the date/time stamp.

    We use this information to manage the website efficiently, learn more about our users’ behaviours across the website, analyse trends and gather demographic data about our users as a whole.     Functionality local storage files

    _gid 24 hours Used to distinguish users.
    _gat 1 minute Used to throttle request rate. If Google Analytics is deployed via Google Tag Manager, this cookie will be named _dc_gtm_<property-id>.
    AMP_TOKEN 30 seconds to 1 year Contains a token that can be used to retrieve a Client ID from the AMP Client ID service.
    _gac_<property-id> 90 days Contains campaign related information for the user.

    __utmv 2 years from set/update Used to store visitor-level custom variable data.
  2. Tracking and Analysis
    Amongst other analysis software, OnStar uses “Google Analytics” produced by Google LLC, in order to optimize website performance and marketing communication on a permanent basis. This enables OnStar to track online usage behaviour in terms of time, geographical origin and use of the website. This information is gathered using web beacons and/or cookies. The IP-Address is made anonymous. The information stored makes no reference to you as an individual, and will not be linked to personal data either. Even the analysis makes no reference to you as an individual. OnStar does not share this information with other parties for independent use.
  3. Enabling and disabling local storage files
    You have the ability to accept or decline all cookies and local storage files on all the websites you visit by changing the settings in your internet browser. For example when you use Internet Explorer version 11.0 you must do the following:

    1. choose “Settings” followed by “Internet Options”
    2. click the tab “Privacy”
    3. use the slider to choose the settings you prefer.

    For other internet browsers please refer to your browser instructions; to learn more about how to modify your browser settings or how to delete cookies and local storage files. Please note that certain features and the full functionality of this website will not be available once local storage files are disabled.
