In August 2017, Groupe PSA bought the Opel and Vauxhall car brands from General Motors. OnStar
Europe Limited was not part of this purchase and continues to be a subsidiary of General Motors.
So, as a result of this change of ownership, OnStar services and Wi-Fi services enabled by the OnStar
connection (if available in your country) will cease to be available for
Opel/Vauxhall/Cadillac/Chevrolet cars on 31st December 2020.
Does that mean OnStar is no longer available in Europe?
OnStar services will no longer be available after 31st December 2020. We understand
customers might be concerned that this will affect their OnStar service. For customers with trial or
paid subscriptions, OnStar will continue to deliver the same exceptional service and peace of mind
right up until that date.
Yes. OnStar core service subscriptions and Wi-Fi data packages will continue to be available for
purchase from OnStar Europe Limited and the nominated mobile network operator for use prior to
31st December 2020. Services will not be available after 31st December 2020.

Opel/Vauxhall has launched its new connectivity offer Opel/Vauxhall Connect since December 2019. Opel/Vauxhall Connect is available for new vehicles in more than 20 European countries and the carlines Corsa, Combo, Crossland X, Grandland X, Vivaro, Zafira Life and the new Mokka. Opel/Vauxhall Connect is only available on new built vehicles and cannot be retrofitted for initially OnStar equipped vehicles. No. Dealers that customers chose to receive data will not receive any OnStar vehicle data after
31st December 2020.
Will OnStar still have access to my vehicle’s data after the end date?
No. OnStar only receives data to provide services to its customers. After 31st December
2020 the services will cease and OnStar Europe Limited will not receive vehicle data after that date.
I have paid for an OnStar package directly through OnStar which goes past 31st
December 2020, what will happen?
The OnStar Service will remain in effect through 31st December 2020. Any balance for
service will be refunded in accordance with applicable terms and conditions.
Will OnStar services still be available until 31st December 2020?
Yes. OnStar Europe Limited remains focused on delivering the same exceptional service through 31st
Will Wi-Fi still work in my car after 31st December 2020?
No. Wi-Fi will not work.
What will OnStar do with my data after 31st December 2020?
OnStar and General Motors only processes and stores your data for as long as it is required, and only
for the purposes that you have agreed to in our Privacy Statement. For example, if you have
purchased a subscription from us, we are required to keep your data for up to 10 years due to audit
processes that must be carried out. Please refer to our Privacy Statement for further
information about how we use your data.
I have paid for an OnStar package directly through the dealer when I purchased
my vehicle (ex: Opel Flat, Ultimate Trim) which goes past 31st December 2020, what will happen?
